Snake - The Twisted Firestarter
Featured in the campaign journal, Quest For The Hanging Glacier
Snake is a maverick in every sense. An outcast from elven society for reasons unknown (but not too difficult to guess), he has dwelt amongst humanity for many years. He is a masterly thief but also possesses no small skill in the ways of magic. Snake tends to use his sorcerous powers to enhance his stealth and combat prowess, though he’s also keen on fire magic, and loves watching his enemies burn. His signature combat style is the use of two longswords – a considerable feat of dexterity and skill which took years of practise to master. He possesses an unusual magical item, a Ring of Fire Regeneration, which enables him to heal injuries when exposed to magical fire. One of his favourite tactics is to unleash a fireball whilst in the midst of his enemies – healing himself and harming his foes. Unfortunately he tends to be a little careless about whether any of his allies might also be affected.
During one exploit in the Amedio Jungle, Snake was captured by the Yuan-Ti and he willingly allowed his blood to be contaminated by magical venom, which has since slowly transformed him into one of them. After his eventual escape he concealed this fact from the party for some time, until it was too late to be reversed. He continues to hide his serpentine features using his Hat of Disguise. As should be evident, Snake is not what you might call the nicest of fellows, though he does form alliances and friendships with people in which he demonstrates some measure of commitment, and even affection.
He has separated from his long-standing circle of adventuring companions after they suspected him of leading them into a Yuan-Ti ambush. He has since gathered a new party around himself and embarked on a mysterious plan of his own, the aims of which are as yet unclear. The Quest for the Hanging Glacier is a part of this plan.
